چکیده

SUMMARY Visual information provides a crucial source of constraint on the action system, so that functional movements are coordinated with the local environment. In visually guiding an action, the actor chooses a perceptually specified affordance to be realized, a corresponding mode of action. and appropriate laws of control by which to visually regulate the action. The affordance problem concerns Iww an organism perceives what cu:tions a given situation affords, and selects an appropriate affordance to realize. An affordance, such as a passable opening, is determined by the fit between the material properties of the environment and those of the organism, yielding optimal points at which action is most efficient, and critical points at whu:h a phase transition to a new mode of action occurs. It is proposed that for each affordanu there exists a corresponding action mode that will realize it, whose free parameters are regulated by a unique set of laws of control. The control problem concerns how the dynamic force-related parameters of the action system are modulated by the kinematic uariables of optical information to yield a precisely adapted mouement. It is proposed that laws of control can be derived from ecological optics and physics that relate changes in optical flow to the changes in force required to achieue a desired action. To demonstrate the generality of this argument. it is worked out in detail for the case of uisual flight control in insects, and then applied to human action in studies of bipedal stair climbing, walking through narrow apertures, and the visual control ofstep length during running.

Transfer from action to perception: The effect of motor-perceptual enrichment

This study investigated the effect of audiovisual integration on action-perception transfer.40 subjects were randomly divided four groups: visual, visual-auditory, control visual and control visual-auditory. Visual groups watched pattern skilled basketball player and other groups in addition to watching pattern skilled basketball player, heard Elbow angular velocity as sonification. In first st...

Incremental Predictive Command of Velocity to Be Gained Guidance Method

In this paper, a new incremental predictive guidance method based on implicit form of velocity to be gained algorithm is proposed. In this approach, the generalized incremental predictive control (GIPC) approach is applied to the linearized model for compensating the guidance error. Instead of using the present state in popular model based predictive controller (MPC), in the new method both pre...

Probiotic Modes of Action and Its Effect on Biochemical Parameters and Growth Performance in Poultry

Provide a healthy diet is one of the major health challenges in the world to maintain health and nutritional status of populations. In this reason, new control strategies such as probiotics have been applied as prophylactic and therapeutic instead of antibiotics. In the same line, probiotics have antagonistic effects to various microorganisms proposed in several mechanisms including improvement...

Action of brain-derived neurotrophic factor on function and morphology of visual cortical neurons

Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) is known to play a role in experience-dependent plasticity of the developing visual cortex. For example, BDNF acutely enhances long-term potentiation and blocks long-term depression in the visual cortex of young rats. Such acute actions of BDNF suggested to be mediated mainly through presynaptic mechanisms. A chronic application of BDNF to the visual cor...
